Though July 4th was the 250th year for America, it was an even more important date in camp life: the halfway point!
The halfway point of ASCTC is always celebrated with the Showcase Performance, in which campers perform a variety of scenes from Shakespeare’s canon. Scenes from tragedies, comedies, and histories get all mashed up into an early modern hodge podge of laughs, combat, and music. The campers will also perform their all-camp song; a song I will not tell the title of to incentivize you to come.

The ASCTC 2026 Showcase will perform on Wednesday, July 8th, at 10:30 AM at the American Shakespeare Center’s Blackfriars Playhouse and will run approximately 75 minutes. Doors will open at 10:00 AM. The performance is free; please RSVP using this link.
After the showcase, friends and families of campers are invited to an ice cream social, held at the courtyard of the dorm. 🍨
Campers have been working incredibly hard on their showcase scenes, and are so excited to perform in front of an audience for the first time in Staunton’s wooden “U”.
