The American Shakespeare Center (ASC) invites year-round submissions from classically trained performers eager to join our renowned repertory company. Our actors perform in rotating productions, playing multiple roles across various genres, creating a dynamic and enriching experience.

What Makes ASC Unique?

At ASC, our repertory theatre style is at the heart of our storytelling. Actors perform in a rotating lineup of productions, often taking on multiple roles—from Shakespearean classics to modern comedies—offering performers the opportunity to challenge themselves and showcase versatility across genres within a single season.

Music is also a key part of the ASC experience, with actors performing live music before and during each show. While musical ability is not required, actors who can sing or play instruments will find additional opportunities to shine in our productions.

We are committed to inclusive casting, welcoming actors of all shapes, sizes, colors, and abilities. Women often play male roles, men take on female roles, and actors of color are considered for any and all roles. We believe that Shakespeare’s plays tell the stories of everyone, and our casting reflects this belief.
