Today’s Date: 7/14
Show Title: Twelfth Night
Director: Hailey Pearce
Staff Crew: Brooke Crittenden and Joe Marsh (RDAs), Natalie Watson and Zoe Symons (Interns)

What we did
First, we played a final game of Czechoslovakia, then did a walk around of the space for our warm-up. Today was the final rehearsal of Twelfth Night, and it started with notes from Hailey about our dress rehearsal last night, and then the campers gave Hailey information from their perspective of last night’s run. We then ran the show really slow, looking at things that Hailey thought needed attention, especially the scene where Malvolio is cross-gartered in yellow stockings. Then, we did a full run-through of the show with AIR Hannah Nguyen in attendance. After that, we had a cooldown activity led by Brooke, and everyone said farewell to rehearsals!

Production Insights
This is the time when the show leaps out of the hands of the director and into the hands of the actors. The final rehearsal is always bittersweet, but this show has been so much fun to work on, there was no time for sadness that it was ending. I learned a lot- about the rehearsal process, about the production company, about the characters in the play, and about myself- during this time. I am so excited for the cast to finally be able to present the production that they have worked so hard on for the past three weeks to you all tomorrow, and anticipating our dress rehearsal in the playhouse this evening. The fact that we’ve gotten this far is an accomplishment in its own, and I have been beyond honored and excited to work with Hailey and with the talented, funny, accomplished, and hard-working cast of ASCTC’s Twelfth Night. It will, no doubt, be a show to remember!
