After twelve years with the American Shakespeare Center, Stephanie Cabacoy, Director of Marketing & Development and Head of Patron Loyalty, will leave ASC on September 20 to begin a new role as Director of Development and Community Relations at The Arc of the Piedmont in Charlottesville.

Stephanie’s time at ASC has touched nearly every corner of the organization. She began in the Box Office in 2014, worked student matinees and ASC’s gift shops (the Tour Shop, the Playhouse, and Shakespeare Gifts on New Street), built relationships throughout Downtown Staunton and the region, led fundraising campaigns, mentored members of the ASC team as they grew into arts managers and leaders of their own, and ultimately helped bring Marketing and Development together as the Patron Loyalty Team.

We are deeply grateful to Stephanie for twelve years of extraordinary service to the American Shakespeare Center and our community. Her care for the ASC’s audiences, donors, partners, and colleagues has made a lasting impact on this organization.

We wish Stephanie every success in this next chapter. The ASC’s Development and Marketing teams will continue their work throughout this transition, and we look forward to sharing more about what’s ahead.

— Vanessa Morosco, Executive Artistic Director

For Stephanie, those twelve years have been defined by relationships.

“Building relationships is at the core of what we do in Patron Loyalty, and I am incredibly proud of the team I leave behind to continue that work,” she said.

ASC’s Development team will continue that work with patrons, donors, partners, and organizations across the region:

  • Hailey Pearce, Development and Fundraising Manager, works with donors who wish to make a gift or learn more about opportunities to support ASC.
  • Bonner Odell, Grants Manager, leads ASC’s foundation relationships and grant work.
  • Camille Dierksheide, Sponsorship Manager, leads sponsorships, partnerships, and opportunities to connect ASC with organizations throughout the region.
  • Mili Koncelik, Playhouse Patron Loyalty Manager, continues to welcome audiences to the Blackfriars Playhouse and create events and patron experiences.
  • Vanessa Morosco, Executive Artistic Director, works closely with the Development team to connect philanthropic support with ASC’s work onstage and off.

“The Development team is a powerhouse, and I know that the relationships you have with ASC are in very good hands,” Stephanie said. You can reach out to the ASC Development team by emailing development@americanshakespearecenter.com or calling 540.885.5588 ext. 114.

Looking back on more than a decade at ASC, Stephanie shared her gratitude for the people who have supported both her work and the organization along the way.

“Twelve years is a long time. ASC has been a huge part of my life, and I am incredibly grateful for all of the people, experiences, opportunities, and versions of myself that I got to become at ASC. Your support has allowed me and so many others to grow here. It has allowed ASC to take chances, create opportunities, build community, and continue doing work that matters. Thank you for letting me be part of this place for so long.”

-Stephanie Cabacoy

And this is not quite goodbye. Stephanie will remain part of the Staunton community, this time trading her staff badge for a seat in the audience. Before her final day, audiences will have one more chance to celebrate with her at the Blackfriars Playhouse’s 25th Anniversary celebration on September 19. Come say hi, share a memory, and help us thank Stephanie for twelve years at ASC.
