What We Did

First, we worked Act 1, Scene 1 off-book for the first time in the playhouse, really paying attention to detail work and learning how the transition from the end of the show song to the top of the play would occur. Then, we worked Act 1, Scene 2, which features (as all of the best comedies do) a shipwreck, this one separating a set of twins, Viola and Sebastian. After the shipwreck was fully planned and choreographed, with some excellent movement work from our Viola and Sebastian, Hudson and Wren, as well as from Emma and Ian, who play the Captain and Antonio, the characters who rescue each of the twins after the ship has sunk. Then, we ran acts 1 and 2 off-book, specifically focusing on detail work for Act 1, and learned tumbling movement with Joe during a break. The rehearsal was observed by our camp director, Lia Wallace, along with Reese McClellan, who works for the ASC.
