Today’s date: Monday June 29, 2026
Show title: The Tragedy Of Antony & Cleopatra
Director: Mili Koncelik
Staff crew: Analise Toone, Topher Zane (RDAs), Julia Hill, John Spellman (interns)
What we did
We began our third (and final!) rehearsal of the day at 2.7, while others went with the two A&C RDAs to block/work out intimacy sequences for other scenes. Mili then dismissed all except Cleopatra, Charmian, Iras, Mardian and Alexas and blocked 1.5.
Quick and Quotable
- From the play: “By your most gracious pardon, I sing but after you.” (1.5)
- From the director: “Alright, calm down Lepidus and Agrippa!”
- From the cast: N/A
Production Insights
Ensemble scenes are important as theatre is very much about community and doing ensemble scenes is a form of community building in theatre that the audience can be apart of and see. Revisiting a show multiple times a day helps actors become familiar with blocking, rythms within scenes and dynamics within scenes. I found it super helpful especially when dealing with rather difficult or unfamiliar text (like Shakespeare).
